Generations of Casini Family History
Casini Ranch has deep roots in the Russian River Valley, with the Casini family living on this land for six generations and owning it for three. It all began in 1881 when Bartolomeo and Anastasia Casini settled in the Duncans Mills area. Their son, Paul Anthony Casini, managed the dairy ranch on what is now Casini Ranch before gradually purchasing the land from the La Franchi family between 1928 and 1932.
For decades, visitors to the area would stop by, hoping to access the river for fishing, and Paul Anthony or his son George would welcome them in. Seeing the growing interest in the land’s natural beauty, George Casini transformed the property into Casini Ranch Family Campground in 1965.
The Casini Family
Today…
Today, the campground remains in the Casini family, with George’s son, Paul Casini, serving as chairman and continuing the legacy of hospitality and outdoor adventure that has defined Casini Ranch for generations. Paul’s nephews, Andy and Gino Casini, play an integral role in CRFC today, making them the third generation to carry on their grandfather’s legacy.
Andy has been the General Manager at the campground since 2016 and has been instrumental in modernizing the campground while staying true to its roots as an outdoor, family-friendly oasis. Gino came back to the campground at the start of 2024 (after working there as an adolescent while his mother, Gina Casini, managed many of the day to day operations), and serves as the Reservations Manager; if you’ve called to book a stay recently, chances are, you’ve talked with Gino!
Paul’s sister, Gina, lives across Moscow Road and can often be seen in the campground walking her dog. She is largely enjoying retirement these days, but was instrumental in the campground’s early days!
There are many furry friends that call Casini Ranch home, too. We have resident mini goats - Camper and Marshmallow - six geese, horses, sheep, cows and ducks!
